The magazine cover assignment was by far my favorite assignment of the entire InDesign portion of this course. I loved that it gave us a change to really explore all the skills that we had learned thus far while incorporating our own design tastes into a piece that represented us as a person. I wanted to keep this cover simple - the dark background of the photo of my contrasts nicely with the white and grey font colors. The transparent underlines and leaf and branch details add some interest without taking away from article titles. This assignment hit close to home because the magazine industry is something I'm very interested in, and this gave me a chance to really think about the skills required by the field of work I hope to one day be a part of.
